DTF printing stands for Direct-to-Film printing — a modern apparel printing method that lets you create full-color, high-detail designs and apply them to a wide range of fabrics.

🔹 How It Works:

  • Design is printed in full color onto a special transfer film using DTF ink (water-based pigment).

  • A powder adhesive is applied to the printed film and cured (usually with heat).

  • The film is then heat-pressed onto the fabric, bonding the design directly to the garment.

🔹 Key Advantages:

  • No fabric limitations – works on cotton, polyester, blends, and more

  • Vivid color + sharp detail

  • Soft, durable finish that doesn't crack or peel easily

  • No weeding or cutting like vinyl

  • Great for small runs or custom orders (no minimums)

DTF is especially popular with custom apparel brands, merch creators, and print shops because it’s fast, flexible, and gives pro-quality results — even on dark or textured garments.

  • 🔥 DTF Transfer Pressing Instructions – State 28

Follow these steps to get the best results from your DTF transfers:

    General Pressing Steps (All Fabrics)

    • Pre-press your garment for 5–7 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.

    • Place your DTF transfer face up, with the film on top of the garment.

    • Press using the settings below (based on material).

    • All Transfers are hot peel.

    • After peeling, press again for 5–10 seconds with parchment paper or a finishing sheet for durability and softness.

    🔹 Cotton & Cotton Blends

    • Temperature: 300–320°F (150–160°C)

    • Time: 15 seconds

    • Pressure: Medium to Firm

    • Peel: hot

    🔹 Polyester & Performance Fabric

    • Temperature: 275–285°F (135–140°C)

    • Time: 12–15 seconds

    • Pressure: Medium

    • Peel: hot
⚠️ Use a Teflon or parchment sheet to avoid scorching.

    🔹 Nylon or Water-Resistant Fabrics

    • Temperature: 265–275°F (130–135°C)

    • Time: 15–20 seconds

    • Pressure: Medium

    • Peel: hot
⚠️ Test first — not all nylons are compatible with DTF. Use a nylon bonding agent if needed.

    🔹 Final Tips

    • Always test on a sample when working with new garments.

    • Store transfers flat in a cool, dry place for best shelf life.
